The latest from Duke

Thank you so much for continuing to go before the Lord on Kim's behalf. We are greatly encouraged by the good reports today. Here's what we know:

- The Spinal Tap results confirmed that there are no metastatic melanoma cells in the spinal fluid. This means that there is not widespread melanoma of the central nervous system. PRAISE THE LORD!!!

- The substance of the mass is still unknown. We do not know if it is melanoma or not. We do know if it is benign or malignant. Kim will undergo a biopsy of the mass tomorrow (Friday). They will create an incision, drill through the skull, and then biopsy the mass.

- CLARIFICATION: We had not understood that the swelling in the brain has come from edema. There is no fluid being released from the mass. Kim's symptoms have been caused from fluid that has been displaced by the mass, but which is normally found around the brain. The fluid has put pressure on the brain which has caused Kim's symptoms. His symptoms have greatly improved since he has been on anti-swelling medication.

Kim and Linda are in good spirits and very thankful for your prayers and support through all this. Continue to pray, beginning with thankfulness as Kim reminded us to do.

Josiah, we're praying. I've got Kim on our prayer list at church. There have been over 50 people in the last few years to be healed of cancers and tumors when we've prayed. God is so good!
Oh, btw...I think I shared with you at the reunion that my grandpa had had cancer over the last year. He is 82 and totally unwilling to give up! He went through chemo, and every day that he was able, he read healing Scriptures over himself. He is in total remission!!! Also, the doctor had done some tests on his stomach because there were questionable looking places in it. His test results came back this week: NO CANCER ANYWHERE!!!
We'll be praying for the same miracle for Kim. God is totally willing and able and loves him with an everlasting love.

Barbara and I are of course very happy to have Kim call this morning and give us the results including the news there are no discernable cancer cells in the spinal fluid. That. however, does not answer all the medical questions -- but it does let us know God is dealing as best HE will in all our lives -- particularly Kim's.
So we are content to rest in HIS love and care -- and greatly appreciative of the care, love and concern expressed by so many of Kim and Linda's friends and colleagues. Isn't the Lord gracious and so good to show HIMSELF strong on behalf of those who trust HIM.

IN Christ --
